Nurse’s Month 2020
Sorting through diplomas & such (that I need to hang & not lose in a box again 🙊) & just I’m in awe of the journey I’ve had in #nursing. I’m 27 & in a couple weeks I’ll have officially been a #nurse 7 yrs. Hopefully that WGU MSN-Ed will be there soon. #NursesMonth
Most of my career I’ve held multiple jobs/roles simultaneously (PRN & part-time gigs). I’ve been a CVICU nurse, travel nurse, outreach nurse on mobile unit, adjunct faculty, volunteer nurse for event and primary care, float pool nurse, Home Health nurse. So much!
Nursing has played a part in me going to Africa, the Carribean, Canada, Europe (briefly), and domestic highlights. During my career I’ve taken care of folks from all over the world, from ship captains, to CEOs, to folks who don’t have a place to call home. #NurseTwitter
I’m thankful for my Momma, the first Nurse I knew, for working hard to provide for me & making sure I didn’t have to want for anything, but also that it’s ok not to have everything. I attend the same ADN program as her (15+ years apart). She’s an amazing exp of community advocacy.
I’m so thankful for my nursing mentor, Jenna, who continues to teach me so much. Quarantine means we’ve missed our periodic dinners where we talk about what’s wrong in the world, yet also about all that keeps us sane! She taught me an autonomous, assertive, & thorough clinician.
